"With the good scarf project, Nell and her friends hope to promote the idea of doing good while having fun knitting. An individual or group knits a piece of what will become a "virtual" scarf. Each section is knit in honor of something good."

Thunderstorms dampen Stitch N Pitch
Silly me for trying to make plans on a "school night". Naturally after I turned around and came home, the weather cleared up. So I sat on my couch, knitting, and watching some of the game.
I sadly missed the event, but here's a great picture of two knitting wannabes, trying their hand at our precious craft at Wednesday's Stitch 'n Pitch. (Ann & Louise's husbands) "Perhaps they'll "get it" one day!!"

SEPTEMBER Knit for Charity: CUBS FOR KIDS
is an organization that started out of love for knitting and love for children.

Knitters provide their creativity and yarn and the bears are then gift wrapped and distributed in EARLY DECEMBER to children ages 3 - 6 in homeless shelters throughout the country.

Deadline to sign up: September 30, 20062.
Matches will be distributed: On or before October 15, 20063.
Secret Pal dates: October 15, 2006 though January 31, 2007
For those of you who have been observing these secret pal exchanges from the sidelines, NOW is your chance to particpate. How fun to be on both the giving and receiving end.
There are 3 basic requirements:
1. Blog: Having a blog (or website) is mandatory for participating in this program.
2. You must set up an anonymous email address such as the free ones from Hotmail or Yahoo so you can contact your SP buddy without giving away your identity.
3. Minimum Contribution: $60 in US dollars over the course of the three months of the exchange. This does not include the value of your time if you make something or any postage costs. That's just $20.00 a month.
